To promote and advance the interests of Ngā Hapū e Toru, Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Taeotu me Ngāti Te Kahu and in doing so to represent such interests. To promote and provide education of whatever nature is suited to the particular needs of Ngā Hapū e Toru, Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Taeotu me Ngāti Te Kahu including the learning, revival, maintenance and preservation of their tikanga. To promote, and assist in the development and improvement of the socio-economic position of Ngā Hapū e Toru, Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Taeotu me Ngāti Te Kahu. To assist in the relief of poverty of Ngā Hapū e Toru, Ngāti Hurungaterangi, Ngāti Taeotu me Ngāti Te Kahu. To carry out such other charitable purposes within New Zealand as the Board shall determine from time to time.
