Charitable Purpose

To provide a Marae complex for the benefit of all iwi, hapu, and whanau, where culture, religion and traditions can be practiced and fostered. To provide a focal meeting place within the community for all Maori, manuhiri of any ethnic or religious group. To foster and keep alive tikanga by including and educating our youth, community and whanau members. To develop and maintain the concept of whanau out of which the care and concern for all youth, parents, and the elderly.

Ngawha Marae Trustees Komiti is a marae on Māori Reservation Land. The Māori Reservation Regulations 1994 require that where a reservation is a marae the trustees of the reservation shall draw up, in agreement with the beneficiaries of the marae, a charter for the reservation. A copy of the Ngawha Marae Trustees Komiti charter is published below. This charter is not a part of the formal rules of the marae as required under s17(1)(c) of the Charities Act 2005.
