Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

The purposes of the Trust are as follows: 4.1. To promote and develop Māori led initiatives within whānau, hapū and Marae and in the areas of Tikanga and Te Reo Māori. 4.2. Encouraging the active involvement of whānau, taitamariki, tamariki and mokopuna in the aspirations of Takiwā. 4.3. To incorporate the principles of respect for diversity and a positive youth development approach to whānau ora and community development. 4.4. To address issues relating to access, advocacy and social services.

* We have a head office located in West Harbour with the intention to soon branch out to South Auckland. * Our Trust Deed states that we must have no more than six trustees, however the quorum is three for board meetings including the Chairperson. * Our board has full and total control over its governance.
