Charitable Purpose

The Trust exists to protect, promote, and enhance the cultural, social, and environmental values and well-being of Te Kawerau ā Maki and its Members. Its secondary purposes are to support the PSGE in carrying out its non-commercial objectives and activities; to support the building of capacity and capability within Te Kawerau ā Maki; and to undertake ancillary commercial activities that directly relate to the cultural, social or environmental values and well-being of Te Kawerau ā Maki.

Entity Structure

Te Kawerau Iwi Tiaki Trust is a subsidiary of the Te Kawerau Iwi Settlement Trust (the PSGE). The Trust is the social arm of the Te Kawerau Iwi Group. The Trust is governed by three trustees, who can appoint operational officers. The Trust can establish subsidiaries to further to charitable purposes.
