Charitable Purpose

Sister Eveleen Retreat House (SERH) is a retreat centre located in Scarborough, Christchurch. The house was bequeathed to the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch in 1939 by Sister Eveleen Barklie from the Community of the Sacred Name in order to be used as ‘a house for spiritual help and prayer’ for both clergy and laity in the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch. Our Christian mission is to provide an accessible and welcoming environment in which rest, spiritual renewal and prayer support is offered.
