Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

Eliminate power poverty through the spirit of manaakitanga. The Trust will: *receive koha from customers of Nau Mai Rā * receive donations from philanthropists and other donors *provide guidance on how to access government and/or other support *offer financial relief to whānau through part or full payment of power bills when they are suffering from power hardship *provide other support and assistance consistent with this charitable purpose

Entity Structure

The Trust board will consist of a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 trustees including at least 1 independent trustee. Nau Mai Rā - NZ's first kaupapa retail energy company will administer koha and allocation of funds at the approval of the Board. The trust may in the future employ staff to administer the day to day activities of the trust.
