Charitable Purpose

The purpose of the New Zealand Ethics Committee is to provide independent ethical review of community research conducted in New Zealand, mostly outside medical and tertiary sectors, and to safeguard the rights, health and wellbeing of consumers and research participants and, in particular, those persons with diminished autonomy.
