Charitable Purpose
The purpose of the Trust will be to preserve, protect and improve the environment and accessibility for residents and visitors to both Mārahau and the Abel Tasman National Park. The Trust will hold the funds collected and donated to the Trust by the commercial operators in Mārahau. The trust will then allocate those funds to projects, initiatives and resources in and around Mārahau to improve the local ecology and/or improve facilities and infrastructure used by people visiting the Abel Tasman.
