Charitable Purpose

The Society is established and maintained exclusively for charitable purposes (including any purposes ancillary to those charitable purposes), namely to benefit the community by: a. supporting, training, assessing, certifying and deployment of avalanche search dogs Teams within New Zealand to standards accepted by SAR NZ & NZ Police Dog Training Unit. b. promoting the use of search dogs in land SAR operations. c. furthering the growth and capability of search dogs and their handlers.

Entity Structure

A committee elected by the members meets a minimum of 3 times a year and once for an AGM. The training is lead by an appointed training team of experts, civilians & police, 3 times minimum yearly and every team is assessed for operational fitness at least once yearly by the NZ Police Dog training unit alongside expert civilian dog handlers Any income, must be used to advance the training and competencies of the novice and operational teams. The finances are audited and certified yearly at AGM
