Te Akatoki advances education by supporting tauira Māori holistically to succeed at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha. It helps its members to develop a strong identity grounded in our whakapapa, ahurea Māori and tikanga; obtain equitable resourcing to support Te Akatoki and our ākonga; be kaitiaki for our whenua to ensure sustainability for future generations; strengthen relationships between Te Akatoki, mana whenua and student associations/rōpū; and uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
