MATAPONO/PRINCIPLES The purpose of the Trust is religious in nature, more particularly to establish, support, and supervise an ecumenical Christian chaplaincy to the rural communities of Southland. The volunteer chaplains are mostly farmers or retired farmers, who in their own time, provide chaplaincy support within their communities as and when required. All applicants for this ministry are supported by their respective churches, are police-checked and undergo appropriate training.
