The Oamaru Pacific Island Trust (OPIT) is established to benefit Pacific and local communities by advancing their social, health, and wellbeing needs through integrated services, education, advocacy, and support initiatives. Grounded in a people-centred, culturally informed approach, OPIT promotes economic resilience, strengthens cultural identity, and delivers community-led solutions that reflect the aspirations and values of Pacific peoples. The Trust continues the legacy of the Oamaru Pacific Island Community Group, ensuring growth, responsiveness, and cultural integrity while undertaking any activities that further these charitable purposes in accordance with New Zealand law
