The Society is established and maintained namely to foster, sustain, develop, and protect the Traditional Māori Performing Arts in the pursuit of excellence. To ensure that the Committee organises and conducts Regional Competitions in accordance with the competition rules. To encourage and assist member organisations of the Society in the promotion and implementation of their projects. To initiate projects to benefit the practice and appreciation of the Traditional Maori Performing Art forms.
