Charitable Purpose
Our purpose is to empower communities to take ownership of their health by combining traditional indigenous knowledge with recognised holistic wellbeing frameworks, including Te Whare Tapa Whā and the Fonofale model. Through these models, we promote wellbeing across the physical, mental and emotional, spiritual, family and cultural dimensions of health.
The Trust delivers initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing through health and wellness expos, educational workshops, marae and community programmes, networking opportunities, corporate wellbeing events and culturally responsive health education. These initiatives are designed to increase access to preventative health knowledge, strengthen community connections and encourage healthier lifestyles. We support preservation, revitalisation and promotion of indigenous plant medicine and traditional healing practices. We provide education on traditional medicine ensuring this valuable knowledge is protected and shared respectfully.
