Purpose & Structure


Charitable Purpose

To encourage the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people so that they may take a constructive place in society. The method of achieving this aim is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership. The principles and practice of the Association are founded on the Scout Promise and the Scout Law.

Annual Returns


Annual Returns are due within 6 months of a charity’s balance date (financial year-end), or a longer period if an extension has been granted.

Exemptions

This charity has been granted an exemption from filing an annual return by 31 March 2008 under section 43 of the Charities Act 2005. The first annual return is due by 31 March 2009. Charity has been give an extension for filing their 2016 return to 31 May 2017. Charity has been exempted from preparing consolidated financial statements for the year ended 30 September 2016.
