Charitable Purpose

SIFT's purpose is to help organisations in Canterbury create and inspire long-term environmental benefits in our region. We do this by providing grants and loans to organisations to help make new environmentally sustainable initiatives happen.

Entity Structure

Trust Structure: Our Trust Deed states that we must have between 4 and 8 Trustees. We currently have four Trustees that constitute our governance board. The Trustees oversee the strategic direction of SIFT. Operational Structure: Our operations are managed by a single part-time employee who is responsible for the general management and administration of SIFT operations. Bookkeeping and accounting services are outsourced.
