Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

BWPA supports 8 Playcentres on the West coast to provide family/whanau led, licensed & certified ECE services. We are a co-operative community based organisation in rural new zealand where play and learning are are valued for children and their whanau. Playcentre is a family organisation where * we empower adults and children to play, work, learn and grow together * we honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and celebrate people's uniqueness * we value and affirm parents as the first and best educators of their children so that whānau are strengthened and communities enriched.

Entity Structure

BWPA is made up of officers are elected from & by the 8 West Coast Playcentres & a number of paid & volunteer support staff. BWPA is a member of the New Zealand Playcentre Federation. We provide support and guidance for our centres and the office-holders to ensure they are aware of good practice and meet all regulatory requirements.
