Purpose & Structure

Charitable Purpose

3.0. Purpose of Society 3.1 The purpose of the Society is to benefit migrants, newcomers and residents of the West Coast by (a) building a multicultural social network (b) helping to create strong, inclusive West Coast communities (c) promoting the value of diversity, encouraging participation and developing connectedness (d) doing anything necessary or helpful to the above purposes. 3.2 Pecuniary gain is not a purpose of the Society. From our Strategic Plan 2019 - Our Vision is for vibrant, multicultural, inter-connected West Coast Communities.

Entity Structure

The organisation is registered as an Incorporated Society. Members elect a governance committee at each AGM. New Coasters employs a Service Manager (20hrs/ week), one Activities Coordinators (10hrs/week), one Financial and Funding Administrator (10hrs/week) and one Events Support and Graphic Designer. We involve volunteers and members of our group to organise activities for migrants, newcomers and the wider community. All details about the organisations' members are documented in a database.
