Charitable Purpose

Playcentre philosophy and practice are based on "Whanau Tupu Ngatahi - Families Growing Together". Playcentre recognises and supports parents as the first and most important educators of their children. Playcentre provides quality early childhood education through quality play experiences supported by a high child to adult ratio. Adults participate in the Playcentre Education Programme which empowers adults and children to play, work, learn and grow together.

Entity Structure

Playcentre is a volunteer co-operative managed and governed by the parents of the children who attend our centre. Every family with an enrolled child/grandchild has a whanau member who is a member of the committee and decisions are made via consensus.
